Cutimed Siltec Sorbact 9In X 9In.

Cutimed Sorbact is a sterile, hydrophobic bacteria binding wound dressing, based on Sorbact Technology.

  • Category: MISC WC
  • Unit of sale: Box

Product Benefits

  • Hydrophobic bacteria-binding: binds bacteria (e.g. Staphylococcus aureus incl. MRSA, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and fungi) by natural hydrophobic interaction — bacteria are removed with the dressing change.
  • No antimicrobial substances: purely physical mode of action, so there is no risk of developing bacterial resistance.
  • Promotes natural healing: binding bacteria helps prevent and reduce wound infection, supporting the body's own healing process.
  • Atraumatic dressing changes: minimal pain for patients and minimal trauma to the wound and surrounding tissue.
  • May reduce the need for antimicrobial agents by reducing the bacterial load in the wound.
  • Cost-effective: reduced infection risk can shorten healing time, saving time and costs on dressing changes.
  • Very rare allergic reactions — in 20+ years of clinical use of Sorbact Technology, no serious allergic reaction has been observed in a clinical study.
  • Suitable for both superficial and deep wounds.

How to Use

  • Prepare the wound and surrounding skin per local clinical practice; select an appropriate dressing size (it may overlap the wound margins).
  • Remove the dressing from the pouch using aseptic technique; ensure direct wound contact for effective hydrophobic binding. For cavity wounds, unfold and gently fluff the dressing to line/fill the cavity — avoid dense packing.
  • Apply an appropriate secondary dressing. Change frequency depends on exudate levels and wound condition — the dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days.
  • To remove: if the dressing adheres to the wound, moisten or soak it to assist removal and avoid disrupting healing.
